Information about the National Action Charter Monument

Manama, Feb. 14 (BNA) The National Charter Monument is the vision of a king and the story of a nation. It celebrates the evolution of democracy in Bahrain, from the early days to the present, and well into the future. It is a Monument built by the people of Bahrain, for which hundreds were consulted — from the highest in the land to everyday Bahrainis: men, women, and children.

He has a job again, contracts apparently “coming out of his ears”, which is good, because until recently he had earned a certain notoriety for not having a job and, more to the point, for the manner in which he went about finding a new one. He drove around Dubai, back in January this year, from the plug-ugly creek to the plug-ugly marina, in his white Porsche, with a sign in the back window saying he wanted a job; vroom vroom he went, gizza job. How quickly, how cravenly they fold. Earlier this year Bahrain got into a spat over an old Iranian claim that Bahrain has historically belonged to Iran. An Iranian partisan of Ali Khamenei, the “supreme leader” busily bashing heads these days, repeated the claim publicly, sending Bahrain’s governments into apoplectic fits and drawing threats of severing energy deals. It got bad enough that even Morocco got into the act, blaming Iran for meddling with Bahrain’s sovereignty.
